Field fire near Salem contained; residents return home

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said a fast-moving fire was knocked down Tuesday afternoon after several residents were ordered to evacuate their homes. Six structures were threatened by the fire southeast of Salem, the Marion County Fire Facebook page said. Another 20 structures were indirectly threatened.
