According to the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), wildfires are expected to occur on both sides of the Cascades this year. Predicting exactly what the season will look like this year is difficult, but early conditions indicate it will be similar to the past couple of years.

Though we are still a few months away from wildfire season, the DNR is already preparing their personnel, deciding how to allocate resources this summer, and acquiring necessary firefighting resources through contracts and partners.
